Dr. Hartmut Grewe

Hartmut Grewe studied political science at the Free University of Berlin and Duke University, where he received his Ph.D. He later taught at the University of Mannheim and the University of Texas at Austin.
After joining the German think-tank Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation he was involved in numerous academic and scientific projects ranging from empirical studies of youth to comparative investigations of parties and trade unions. He assisted the political education programs of the foundation in Germany and worked as a policy advisor for a continental trade union movement in Latin America and supervised other international projects of development assistance. Before his retirement he was in charge of the foundation’s policy projects in Berlin for energy, environment and climate change.
He has a vast experience in designing and organizing expert policy events in these fields and writing policy papers for decision-makers. Due to his language skills his lecturing activities promoting renewable energies and energy efficiency extend from Germany to a whole range of foreign countries.
